2022 in Review

I continued to work at my two schools last year as a Casual Relief Teacher teaching Grades Prep (Foundation) to 6. Additional Professional Development last year included Spanish and Italian language lessons on Duolingo, weekly Online Ukulele lessons, Multisensory Learning for teaching literacy, and science and related meditation techniques for well-being via Dr. Joe Dispenza.

How to Teach Art from Home: COVID-19 Webinars with the Art of Education University

Last night I watched a 2-hour online webinar focusing on how to teach classroom art from home. It looks like this will be the 'new normal' at some stage here in Melbourne, although schools remain open right now. Art teachers are the most creative teachers on the planet, and this was an inspiring webinar packed full of tips and strategies around content, assessment and the tech side of things! I will continue watching these in the weeks to come!

Teaching in 2020

I'm looking forward to getting back into the classroom as a casual relief teacher this year! I will be extending my work from just one school to two or three schools. I prefer to work at fewer schools so that I can get to know staff and students. I also plan to apply for part-time specialist teaching contracts.

Prep J and I made cute wristwatches for 'watch', the Word of the Week, and in Prep F we created a Pyjama Pictograph!

Reflections from 2018

Last year was a busy teaching and learning year for me. I did casual relief teaching all year, starting out in various schools in the area and ending up at Glen Katherine Primary School in Eltham North, a Melbourne northeastern suburb, as a regular CRT, which was fabulous. It was great to work at one school to get to know the students and staff!

Casual Relief Teacher!

I'm excited to be working again as a primary school casual relief teacher. It's a great opportunity to hone my classroom management skills and to plan a wide variety of lessons, tricks, and activities to have at the ready for all grade levels.
