Meditation in schools to improve students' attention and emotional regulation
I just finished reading an amazing book about neuroplasticity, epigenetics and self healing through meditation!
I highly recommend this life-changing read. It's important for teachers to look after themselves so they can be at their best when teaching. Mindfulness meditation is a great tool for reducing stress levels and relaxation. This idea is slowly catching on in primary schools. There are some fantastic apps that teachers can use with their students. Two of these are Smiling Mind and Headspace. Research has shown that academic results improve and behavioural issues are fewer when students meditate regularly in the classroom. Here is an article about introducing meditation into the classroom.
